Encouragement for Working Moms
If nothing else, I want to encourage all of the Moms that may run across this article. You are NOT alone! Sometimes, well, ok....many times I have felt alone, helpless with nowhere to turn. As a single mom of 6 children, there really aren't that many people that would understand or relate to me. I want to tell you today, You are not alone.
Parents all over the world, in every country, society, and all facet of life feel the same way.
During these times, it may help to remember that your kids are also feeling helpless and may be reaching out for a helping hand. Know that no child is inherently bad and that with love and support, you will both survive the most difficult of times.
There have been times in the past few years that my oldest daughter has really put me through some "stuff"!
Yeah, that's a nice way to put it "stuff"!
lol
Now that I have lived through it, I realize that she was reaching out for help....just like I was.
I sat up night after night thinking what did I do, to make her act like this? She wasn't raised like this! If I would have done this my father would have killed me!
My mind raced for days, weeks, months....
Now, I realize, in her own way.......she was reaching out for
help too. Just in a different way.
Through a lot of prayers and love, she has turned her life around and I think is heading in the right direction and I am still working on me, too.
But I hope, the next 5 will benefit from their Mommy growing up along the way.
The role of parent is the hardest job I have ever had. I have owned an Insurance Agency and been a Mortgage Broker...and those jobs are cake compared to being a single mom.
So, let's all try to remember, if only for today, we are NOT alone. This too shall pass.
My Mom has told me for years, "God will not give you more than you can handle", may be true, but I think he has really pushed me to the limit a few times.
Being a parent is a wonderful gift.
It's a joy beyond compare, a happiness
no one can describe.
As you guide your child through
the problems of life, and offer and
encouragement needed to acheive
so many things, you will need an abundance
of patience, kindness, and understanding,
but everything you give will be returned ten
fold in love and appreciation.
Being a parent is a special gift
that blesses your life with happiness, love
and a lifetime of memories.
